The chicago fashion incubator nurtures six up-and-coming designers

You have probably heard by now of the six upstart designers stationed on the 11th floor at Macy's State Street store. Handpicked to enroll in the Chicago Fashion Incubator-a yearlong crash course of workshops and seminars on everything from clothing production to business licensing-they have spent the past seven months learing how to kick-start their careers in the city's fashion community. "I think each of them has already found their customer here," says Kimberly Prodan, the executive director of the Incubator. "It's just creating a bigger presence now." Allow us to introduce you to these budding talents; then check them out at Fashion Focus week, October 1st through the 8th. -ANNE HALLIDAY
